Q. How do I know if I’m eligible for Deloitte’s Graduate Programme?

You should be applying for the Graduate Programme in your final year of university study.

Q. How many Graduates does Deloitte employ?

Deloitte recruits approximately 140 Graduates nationally every year but this can fluctuate according to our business needs.

Q. What is Deloitte looking for in a Graduate?

We look for really well-rounded individuals (no, it isn’t just about grades!). This includes students with work experience, extra-curricular activities, achievements, sports or team experience, clubs, community or volunteering involvement, strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability.

Q. What kind of support is there as a Graduate?

Each new graduate is paired up with a buddy and a Counselling Manager to help with a smooth transition into Deloitte life. Your buddy will keep in touch with you for catch ups during your final year of study before you start with us to keep you up to date with everything and answer any questions you may have. You can also expect invites to team events throughout the year! Graduates take part in our Graduate Development Program which runs during your first week of induction and specifically trains you with skills and technical training to get you prepared for life at Deloitte. We provide the right kinds of tools and training through mentoring and peer support to ensure you achieve your career goals and success.

Q. How will a Graduate role at Deloitte benefit me?

Our structured Graduate Programme provides a fun, open culture where you can have a voice and bring your great ideas to life. You’ll be an important part of the team from day one, working face-to-face with clients on jobs that are relevant to your interests. As you go, you’ll enjoy a supportive environment where Partners are accessible and everyone is invested in your training and growth. Our graduates get their hands on real work and projects from early on in the program, working alongside other bright minds and clients which means you have a real impact on businesses and their objectives soon after your first day! Deloitte also offers you the chance to develop through your professional career with ongoing study and training. We are a global firm with more than 240,000 people worldwide so there are plenty of career opportunities across the globe.

Q. I am interested in two Service Lines, can I apply for both?

No – due to the high volume of applications we receive we only review your first application. When you apply you will be asked what your second choice service line is, so if you’re interested in two areas, that’s the place to let us know.

Q. When do Graduates start with Deloitte?

Our Graduate Programme begins in February following the completion of your final year of study, but students who graduate mid-year can sometimes start then, after your final exams.

Q. I have already graduated, am I still eligible to apply?

Yes. We recruit graduates with who are taking a gap year, completing an overseas exchange, or pursuing postgraduate studies for example. If you have substantial relevant work experience, please visit our Experienced Hires careers section.

Q. I am an international student, am I eligible to apply?

To apply for our Graduate or Summer Intern programme, you are required to provide evidence that you are legally entitled to work in New Zealand for the duration of the internship, or on a permanent basis (if applying for a Graduate role). Summer Internship FAQs

Q. How do I know if I’m eligible for Deloitte’s Summer Intern Programme?

You should be applying for the Summer Intern Programme in your penultimate (second to last year) of university study.

Q. How many Summer Interns does Deloitte employ?

Deloitte recruits approximately 80 Summer Interns nationally every year but this can fluctuate according to our business needs.

Q. Can I still apply for the Graduate programme if I haven’t done a Summer Internship?

Of course! Although quite a few of our Summer Interns are offered roles to come back as Graduates after their final year of study, we still recruit a large number of Graduates who haven’t done an internship with us.

Q. What is Deloitte looking for in a Summer Intern?

Q. How will a Summer Internship at Deloitte benefit me?

A Summer Internship allows you to experience what life is like in one of our Service Lines, helping you to make the best career choice for the future. Life as a Summer Intern at Deloitte will see you getting exposure to clients and projects and working on real solutions for them which means you contribute soon after your first day. A summer internship means that you have the opportunity to work alongside other bright minds and make an impact during your time at Deloitte which is why many of our interns do receive offers to return as a graduate the following year. You may have that graduate job lined up before your final year!

Q. When do Summer Interns start with Deloitte?

Our Summer Intern Programme begins in November and at the end of your penultimate year of study. The Programme ends mid-February before you start back in your final year.
